Wizard World Anaheim 2011

At the tail end of April 2011, Kona was contracted by Wizard World Comic Cons to help bring a stronger gaming presence to their conventions. We started by bringing in many of the gaming communities within the Anaheim area. This filled the Community Alley area of the convention with many interesting and joinable organizations for the attendees. Our plan was to bring in some of the behind the scenes actors from the video game, Black Ops. As a result, we brought in featured Call of Duty voice actor James C. Burns, who plays Sgt. Frank Woods. He also took the time to interact with fans and sign autographs.

The headline of the show was a panel titled “Music in Video Games” with special guests Kevin Sherwood (Black Ops Zombies), Sean Murray (Black Ops), Greg Edmonson (Uncharted Series), Garry Schyman (Bioshock Series) and Inon Zur (Dragon Age Series). In the panel, we discussed how each composer found themselves in the gaming world, how they feel their music engages each of us and makes us feel and where the industry is going. After the panel, all of the composers came to the show floor for a photo and autograph sessions, with all of them giving free autographed soundtracks to fans.
