Gearbox Software Details The Mechromancer Class For Borderlands 2

We’re only one week away from the release of Borderlands 2, easily the most anticipated title of this year. And while we eagerly wait for September 18th, you might want to get that pen out one more time to mark another date on your calendar.

Gearbox Software has just announced the final details on The Mechromancer, a downloadable character that will increase the number of character classes to five. I got a sneak peak of her while waiting for my turn to play the game at PAX Prime 2012 this year (photos from PAX here) and let me tell you, she is AWESOME!

Gaige (yes, that’s her name) is definitely unique. This little vixen has the ability to beckon her beast to deliver some serious blows. Don’t worry, just like your other available classes, you can upgrade her little friend with armor, weapons, and abilities to increase the amount of damage it inflicts.

The Mechromancer Class will come free to Borderlands 2 Premier Club Members (which is of course free to those who pre-order the game at participating retailers). When it’s released on October 16th, it will also be available to non Premier Members for $9.99 or 800 MS Points. For more information, check out www.borderlands2.com
