Where’s The Madden NFL 13 Review?
Many of you may be wondering where the review for Madden NFL 13 is. Well, it’s not ready yet. However I have a few reasons as to why and some of you may be okay with this. Aside from preparing for a possible hurricane here in South Florida and recently getting back from a trip to Los Angeles to cover WWE 13; there’s so much of Madden I refuse to cover before the games official release.
What I mean by that is the review copy I currently have is for the PlayStation 3. Knowing full well EA Sports has been hyping up (even in their recent commercials) the Kinect voice command, I’m going to get the Xbox 360 version at midnight launch and give the Kinect features a shot so I can provide details on it in our review, even if some people already think it’s just a novelty feature.
More importantly though is the chance to really test out the games Connected Careers and online modes. Before the release of a game, media outlets get their hands on early copies of sports games and do their best to provide detailed reviews just to try and be the first out there to have a review up. Doing so, they only test out online when there are less than 100 people online and to be honest with you, this is Madden. Once the clock hits 12 midnight on Tuesday August 28th, thousands of people will be swarming online whether it be for Ultimate Team, Connected Careers, or to face off against other players worldwide and stake their claim on the leaderboards. The online servers may work fine now but who knows what will happen when thousands and thousands of crazed Madden players jump on the ever so delicate EA Servers.
While checking out all of this, I am taking my time to continually find any in-game issues like how the 4-3 defense is one of the worst defenses in Madden 13, how the Patriots ended last in their division while the Colts and Andrew Luck went 13-3 in the season, and how fast running-backs have the ability to “glide” juke past defenders.
So my apologies in advanced but I didn’t want to break the review into two different parts while providing an actual score next Tuesday or Wednesday. You guys deserve a full review of Madden.
