Official Battlefield 3 DICE Servers Are Quadrupling In Number

After giving players the ability to rent servers for BF3 the number of official DICE servers dropped to zero at one point as EA was more than happy to rent out servers to make a quick buck.  Fans eventually started to get upset as it became evident that most rented servers didn’t provide the same experience the official ones did. A myriad of reasons started to pop up making the rented servers less than ideal to play on. Tiny map rotations, ridiculous ticket counts for those maps, complete a-hole server admins, and goofy restrictions are just a few of the reasons most people eventually started to want official DICE servers to come back.  EA obliged by putting a small number of official servers back online but the chance of getting into a match one was almost impossible.

Well good news as the Battlefield blog has just announced they will be QUADRUPLING the number of official servers for both the PS3 as well as the Xbox!

We have heard your wish for more official DICE servers. As of now, we have effectively quadrupled them on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

This is great news as this weekend kicks off another DOUBLE XP event starting tomorrow! Remember the best way to make sure you play on an official server is to manually filter your server searches and look for only servers that show DICE as being the “owner” of the server!
