Darksiders II Arena Survival Gamemode and Game+ Announced
THQ has just dropped word that Darksiders II will be getting a brand new gamemode called Arena Survival mode which as you probably guessed by now will be the game’s obligatory “horde mode-esque” game type. While taking on waves of enemies players will be able to “gamble” their loot for something better or stop where they are to keep what they have earned so far. Its kind of like Lets Make A Deal only way more bloodier and less tedious to watch. After 5 waves the player will be given a “prize” they can either stop there or gamble it by choosing to go another 5 waves to get a better prize. There are 100 waves in total and each 5 waves offers something better than the previous one, the catch here is if you die at all along the way you will loose everything. Whatever prizes you earn can then be used in your single player game or in the new Game+ mode that was also announced. Game+ is pretty straight forward once you beat the game you can then play again from the beginning using everything you earned from the previous game. All of this will also be available to use once the planned DLC’s start to release as well!
Vice President of Global Brand Marketing Jim Huntley had this to say
[Source Darksiders.com]“The Arena Challenge Mode and the New Game+ function are the perfect way to continue building the ultimate Death even after finishing the main game. This upgraded and customized character can then be carried over into the upcoming DLC campaign missions.”
