Zombie Driver HD Gears Up For Its XBLA Release

Already a hit at the time on the PC,  Zombie Driver HD announced as far back as Sept 2011 that it was set to release on the XBLA.  Well almost a full year later and with no news in regards to a XBLA release despite having numerous patches and even a free update that brought a new game mode to the PC version, I (and I assume many others) had completely written off any chance of seeing this game hit the marketplace.   However there is some ray of hope as the game’s achievement list has just appeared on 360achievements.com.  While there is still no release date given for the game this is at least a step closer to seeing it finally ported over. The console version is set to be more so much more than just a simple port however, this snippet was from the original 2011 press release

Zombie Driver HD features a more varied narrative campaign that is twice as long as the original, adding epic boss fights, demolition missions, new enemies and special vehicles such as a fire truck, bulldozer and even a tank, as well as many more gameplay enhancements… The gameplay mechanics have received a new round of polish by introducing an improved camera system, a recharging afterburner that will help you get out of tough spots and a minimap that will guide you through a labyrinth of zombie filled streets.

If that wasnt enough the port will also include two additional play modes, bringing the Blood Race game mode with it from the PC which has tree different play modes in itself. Race which is a straight forward race to finish line mode, Elminator requires you to destroy as many opponents as you can before time runs out, and Endurance events which require you to keep the bomb strapped to your car from exploding by doing various different objectives!
The third available game mode is called the Slaughter and is essentially a horde mode type of gameplay.  Kill as many zombies as you can in special arena styled maps and work your way to the top of the leaderboard!

The single player portion features over 30 missions coupled with the Blood Race mode which also has over 30 missions that over 60 missions before you even count in the Slaughter game mode.  That’s quite a bit of content for one XBLA title!

Check out the trailer below and as more information becomes available we will keep you update!
