Borderlands 2 Now Complete, Time To Discuss DLC
A blog post today by Community Manager Chris Faylor from Gearbox, confirms that Borderlands 2 is complete and headed to certification. No, that doesn’t mean that it will be released any sooner (sad, I know). What that translates to is that all of the game’s “on-disc” content has been finalized, not allowing any further changes. It will of course be meticulously tested to ensure that everything is working properly and ready to play when you fire up your console. That being said, should they wish to move the date up, I don’t think they would get any complaints.
The development team is now changing gears and looking towards downloadable content post-launch. The first of which will be the Mechromancer, a new character class available to Borderlands 2 Premier Club Members. This will be a free download and is set to go live roughly two to three months after the game’s release. Just one of the numerous items planned for Premier Members, this content can be obtained by pre-ordering a copy of the game from participating retailers. Chris closed with the following statement:
“On behalf of everyone involved in the development of Borderlands 2, thank you for your love and support – your passion for what we create is what fuels our effort!”
Borderlands 2 will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC on September 18, 2012
