Borderlands 2 Campaign To Last Nearly 58 Hours
With Borderlands 2 set to release just two months from now, we’re learning a little bit more about the game’s campaign mode. In a recent interview, Steve Gibson (VP of Marketing for Gearbox) told the good folks over at Gamerzines that players can expect the campaign to take roughly 58 hours to complete. Personally, I think this is a refreshing change of pace when you consider that many of today’s top selling titles offer up a campaign that seems to end just as quickly as it started. That’s certainly not going to be the case here, especially when you take into consideration that this “58 hours” is based on a play through with only ONE of the five available character classes.
“What we like to think about it is, Borderlands is a hobby. Some guide guys just did a playthrough of Borderlands 2 and they reported back to us that it takes 58 hours to play through the campaign – and that’s just one playthrough with one character. So the depth with which people can get into that…Yeah we look at it as a hobby, and that isn’t even counting the new Badass Points system and how that’ll affect every character you do. We want it to feel like you get more for your money, we’re happy for people to pay their money once and feel that they get ongoing value” Said Gibson
The full interview can be found here and discusses more on the story line, Easter Eggs, and the reasons behind the decision to pull “Arena Mode”
Borderlands 2 will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC on September 21, 2012
