Gearing Up For PAX East 2012 With Konas Korner
It’s hard to believe that we are under the two week mark for PAX East 2012 in Boston, MA. With nearly 70,000 people in attendance last year (up from 52,290 the year prior), this event continues to grow and brings gamers of all ages, all walks of life, and from all over the world together under one roof. Due to the fact that it falls on Easter weekend, it’s understandable that many who would normally show up for the festivities, have other obligations. None the less, that didn’t stop the rest of you (myself included) from buying tickets, booking flights, and locking in those hotel rooms for what is sure to be another successful PAX. In fact, 3 day passes were almost instantly cleared out once the announcement was made that they went on sale.
For me, this will be my second trip to PAX East (third PAX trip total). The past two events, I was simply an “attendee” with a passion for gaming and a curious nature. The sights and sounds I experienced were for my own enjoyment as I didn’t really have an outlet to share the wonders of PAX other than by word of mouth. This year, I am fortunate enough to be going as a representative of Konas Korner. I still have the same passion for gaming and the same curious nature, but now I’ll be armed with my camera gear and journalistic prowess to bring those who CAN’T attend, a behind the scenes look at all that PAX has to offer.
Our mission is to go hands on with as much as possible. We’ll be there for discussion panels, checking out the latest and greatest gear hitting the market, and most importantly giving you the inside scoop on the hottest upcoming game titles. So make sure you follow us here at Konas Korner and feel free to comment below (or email me directly – link provided below) regarding anything of interest. We can’t get to everything but we’ll be happy to do OUR best to get you any info we can on the things YOU want to know about.

I would love to learn how you went from a passionate gamer to now working for KK. I’ve emailed many (pink and another) about possibly UbuTech LLC and KK working together but probably should email Kona personally. I look forward to seeing all the KK folks at the show. Ttyl
Ubu … Myself and those of us on KK’s staff attending, look forward to meeting you as well. It has been a little crazy lately getting everything prepared for this year’s event. No doubt we will be doing so right up to day 1 as we look to bring the community everything we can. As for working with Kona and the site in some capacity, you are correct that you should probably reach out to him directly. I can tell you (even from my OWN experience) that he has been extremely busy lately, not just with this site, but also his own production company. As a result, it can be difficult to catch up with him from time to time. That being said, do not get discouraged if as a result, it takes a little time for him to respond. He is very good about getting back to folks and always interested in potential opportunities. I will certainly pass long your interest to him as well. Thanks again, my friend and please feel free to reach out to me in the future should you need anything.
See you at PAX!
I’m hoping to hear something on Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. I played War for Cybertron and loved it!!
I want to see a LIVE broadcast from the show floor!
I’ll see what I can do about that
Wish i could go this year to . Since they signed a 10 year contract with boston it won’t be the last. I think meeting kona and the rest of the crew would be awesome. Most the people I game with don’t live close tome . If you guys could i’d love to see the keynote address.
