Play and Learn With Monkey Tales Games
Combining fun with education is no monkey business with this game developer and educational adventure series. Monkey Tales Games is the brainchild of Belgium’s own Die Keure, an educational book publisher, and Larian Studios, Europe’s premier software developer for educational games. Together they provide several adventure games that help entertain, but also aid in teaching your second to sixth grader master their math skills while having fun along the way.
Arithmetic can be challenging for children, but with the help of Monkey Tales Games, math has never been so easy to learn or so much fun! Navigating through the many different levels and puzzles, the ultimate goal is to out score your pet monkey by solving different math problems and then advancing to the next level.
In “The Princess of Sundara”, one of five games to choose from, your child takes the role of a hero or heroine as they navigate through the adventure completing logical puzzles and solving math problems. Children can strengthen their math skills as they attempt to save Princess Ehimaya from the evil clutches of Rinjin, the dragon.
One of several puzzles your child can work through is coming across an area filled with water. To get to the other side, so you can collect more bananas for you pet monkey, children have to push a couple of boxes so that they fall into the body of water creating a bridge. Completing this objective, your child can continue collecting bananas for your pet monkey and eventually come to the final challenge.
Playing this game with my son and seeing his reaction while playing the game and learning math skills at the same time is very gratifying and fun, too. Arrows are used to move the character around the map and the space bar is used to progress through instructions. There is a story mode, personal zoo, and exercise mode. Also, your child can check out their statistics by using the clipboard. Navigation is very easy, even a child can do it.
Both Die Keure and Larian Studios are continually making strides to provide the very best educational games on the market. The MEDEA nominated Monkey Tales games are now available for the U.S. and can be ordered online. For $14.95 each, you can order and download one or all five in the Monkey Tales series, so you and your 7 to 12 year old child can start improving those math skills. Die Keure and Larian Studios have created a simple, yet effective game that parents can feel good about playing with their children while knowing that they are not just having fun, but also investing in their child’s future.
