UPDATE: Confirmed – ‘Annihilation’ Inbound 6/28/11 | Third Map Pack ‘Retaliation’ Coming?
UPDATED: Through a very reliable source, it has been confirmed that there will be a third map pack released on June 28, 2011. In fact, I called my local Gamestop to confirm and they did say that they are accepting pre-orders for the ‘Annihilation’ map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Still no comment from Activision or Treyarch.
Considering they just released the ‘Escalation’ map pack, the likelihood of another map pack, especially this late in the year, just seems doubtful, or does it? What appears to be a flyer from a gaming retailer, the poster shows off five new maps, one of which will be a zombie map. Click on the image below to get a larger view.
Now keep in mind, this information is just rumor and nothing has been confirmed from Activision or Gamestop. I do recall, however, the ‘Escalation’ map pack started out as a rumor as well, which eventually led to be fact.
The picture is convincing and looks very legit, but it could just be an excellent rendition of fan art. In any case, here are the maps (allegedly) that are expected to be released:
- Hangar 18
- Hazard
- Drive-In
- Silo
- Zombie Map (The graphic is blurry and could not be identified.)
The name ‘Retaliation’ for the map pack is also speculation and the release date, if they are real, is also unknown.
